Medicine Hat Musical Theatre exists to provide the citizens of the City of Medicine Hat and the surrounding areas with entertainment through the medium of amateur musical theatre. Medicine Hat Musical Theatre will demonstrate leadership in the promotion of musical theatre and support community members committed to theatrical productions.  Medicine Hat Musical Theatre will work in partnership with other community groups to promote the performing arts and, wherever possible, promote the cultural initiatives of other community groups.

PURPOSE:

The purposes of Medicine Hat Musical Theatre are as follows:
 

1. To produce at least one musical each year, chosen on the basis of potential interest to our patrons and to box office success;
2. To promote participation in musical theatre through the provision of opportunity to become involved in all aspects of a show production;
3. To promote the advancement of the performing arts through scholarships and grants;
4. To promote skill development of amateur performers and artists through the sponsorship of workshops and related educational presentations;
5. To support community theatre groups through promotion in written material of Medicine Hat Musical Theatre and through nominal rentals of costumes and equipment;
6. To increase community awareness of the activities of Medicine Hat Musical Theatre through public relations activities and events.

Medicine Hat Musical Theatre is a non-profit society managed by a volunteer board consisting of 18 members.
